Macro Morning

A quiet night on markets as Americans blow their hands off with fireworks and enjoy the benefits of a spectacularly expensive healthcare system while shouting “Freedom!” In the rest of the “free” world, it was golds day in the sun, again, lifting but not quite besting its Brexit high as other commodities lifted on a raft of supply problems and bets that central banks will keep the spice flowing. European stocks had a mild selloff with no lead from US markets as bank stocks retreated but miners kept the bourses intact.
The Shanghai Composite has finally broken out with a 2% rise yesterday to almost broach strong resistance at 3000 points. I’m watching for a follow through today and then targeting 3200, then 3400 on further momentum:
