Core Logic: Rental falls accelerate

Core Logic has released its rental report for June, which revealed that rents at the combined capital city level fell by 0.4% in June, by 0.3% over the quarter, and by 0.6% over the year – the lowest rate of growth on records that date back to 1996:

As shown above, Brisbane (-0.3%), Perth (-8.6%), Adelaide (-0.4%), and Darwin (-16.2%) recorded rental falls over the year, whereas Sydney (+0.4%), Melbourne (+1.7%), Hobart (+4.6%) and Canberra (+1.9%) recorded increases.
