AFG posts seasonal mortgage rebound

Australian Finance Group (AFG) has released its housing finance data for the June quarter, which registered a third consecutive quarterly fall in mortgage applications, but still an increase year-on-year.
The number of mortgage applications rose by 11.6% over the June quarter but were down by 2.4% over the year, whereas the value of applications rose by 12.9% over the quarter and were up by 1.5% over the year (see next chart).
