RP Data: Annual rental growth still negative

Core Logic-RP Data has released its rental report for April, which revealed that annual rents have continued to decline, down by 02% at the capital city level in the year to April 2016 – the lowest rate of growth on records that date back to 1996:

As shown above, Brisbane (-0.6%), Perth (-8.9%) and Darwin (-12.6%) recorded rental falls over the year, whereas Sydney (+1.4%), Melbourne (+1.7%), Adelaide (+0.5%), Hobart (+1.1%) and Canberra (+2.5%) recorded small increases.
