AFL Doggies take aim at negative gearing for the rich

For those of you unfamiliar with AFL in Melbourne, two teams played each other over the weekend:

  • The Western Bulldogs: the quintessential “working man’s” team representing Melbourne’s working class Western Suburbs (think Footscray, Maidstone, Braybrook and Altona); and
  • The Melbourne Demons: the epitome of a “rich man’s” team whose supporters are often joked to drive Range Rovers and absent at the snow when crowds are poor.

Below is the banner used over the weekend by the Western Bulldogs prior to its match with the Melbourne Demons, via Fairfax:

Yet another jibe at the Turnbull Government’s (and Property Council’s) lie that negative gearing is used by “ordinary workers”.
