The AFR’s Ben Potter has written an article on the “boom” in healthcare jobs, which has underpinned employment growth over the past year and more than covered the loss of jobs in manufacturing and mining:

Nurses and midwives led the charge in Australia’s resurgent jobs market last year, accounting for 84,000 new private sector jobs in the year to November 2015, Bureau of Statistics data analysed by Melbourne University labour market economist Jeff Borland shows.
