The ABS released its Australian demographic statistics for the September quarter of 2015, which revealed that Australia’s overall population growth rate fell slightly, with rebounding growth in New South Wales and Victoria offsetting plummeting growth in the two key mining states of Western Australia and Queensland.

According to the ABS, Australia’s population grew by 1.33% in the year to September 2015 – the lowest recorded growth rate in a decade and just below the 30-year average of 1.38%.
