What skills shortage?

A day after the Australian Industry Group called for a boost in Australia’s skilled migration intake, in a bid to alleviate so-called skills shortages, the Department of Employment has released its Skills Shortages Statistical Summary for the 2015 calendar year (here and here), which has found that “skill shortages continue to be limited in the Australian labour market”.

According to the Department of Employment, around 70% of vacancies are being filled:
