Trade deficit blows out in October

The Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) today released trade data for the month of October, with Australia’s trade deficit blowing-out to $3,305 million from $2,403 million in September (revised up from $2,317 million). The result disappointed analyst’s expectations, who had expected the trade deficit to widen to $2.6 billion.
It was the 19th consecutive monthly trade deficit and one of the largest recorded over the past decade:
