The Coalition really loves “big government”

Today, Alan Kohler has rightly pointed-out that the actions of Coalition Governments – both under John Howard and Tony Abbott – suggests that it is actually the party in favour of “big government”:

During the final two boom years [of the Howard Government], 2006 to 2008, revenue grew by $39 billion, but fell as a percentage of GDP, and nearly all of it was spent….
