GST rise good if done right

The prospects of an increase or broadening of the GST have risen after the Labor-held states indicated that they would support the move if the Turnbull Government secures an election mandate. From The Canberra Times:

Victoria’s Daniel Andrews and Queensland’s Annastacia Palaszczuk have publicly stated their opposition to a GST rise from 10 per cent to 15 per cent and instead proposed a rise in the Medicare levy.
