On Monday, Fairfax Media reported that the Turnbull Government was considering permitting private health insurers to cover the costs of GP visits and other primary care – a move that could shift Australia towards a US-style health system. This was followed by a harsh response from MB (here and here).
I am happy to report that Health Minister, Susan Ley, appeared on ABC’s 7.30 Report last night and hosed-down fears that the Government would Americanise the health system:
