Competition is a wonderful thing in politics.

Hot on the heels of opposition leader Bill Shorten’s pledge last week to turn Infrastructure Australia into a $10 billion ‘infrastructure bank’ that would finance new public works and major projects, Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull has vowed to boost investment in all kinds of infrastructure “on the basis of its merits”.
