Abbott mulls Federation doom loop

After it was leaked to Fairfax yesterday that the Abbott Government was considering abandoning funding for public schools, leaving the states some $2 billion per year worse-off, The Australian has reported today that the Abbott Government is also considering pulling funding from public hospitals, leaving the states $18 billion worse-off.

I am the first person to admit that Australia’s federal system is nowhere near perfect.
