Mixed is the only way to characterise moves on risk markets last night as a damp squib of a US retail sales report and continued pressure from bond markets weighed on stocks. The US dollar slid again, boosting commodities and the majors, especially the Aussie dollar.

Recapping Asia’s session from yesterday, the Shanghai Composite slipped a little falling 0.6% but watch out today after the overnight release of the shocking hard landing stats, plus the news of more stimulus that will shake things up.
