Budget fails to right Costello’s wrongs

If there was a catchphrase from Treasurer Joe Hockey’s Budget speech last night, it was “fairness and families”.

Gone is last year’s bluster over the “Budget emergency” and “ending the age of entitlement” – including cuts to health, education, pensions, unemployment support and family payments – replaced by immediate hand-outs and tax relief for small businesses, along with more funding for families by way of childcare.
