Macro Morning (silent night)

A mixed night with the only lead the Chinese trade data from yesterday afternoon that sent the Aussie dollar reeling as the US earnings season rolled on with industrials dragging the main bourses down. Commodities were mixed while Europe took a breather.
Recapping the Asian session it was all good until the Chinese trade balance printed, sending the ASX200 and Nikkei 225 down swiftly but the Chinese markets shrugged it off and exploded north again! The Hang Seng was up nearly 3% while the Shanghai Composite, now through the 4000 point and 100% year on year return barriers, surged another 2% on its way to the stratosphere.
