Iron ore drives slump in resources jobs

DFP Recruitment has released its mining and resources jobs index for February, which registered a large seasonally adjusted fall of 3.8% to 65.41, with vacancies down 30.80% nationally over the past year, but only 7.2% in the last 6 months and 4.7% over the last quarter.

February saw a massive 9.4% fall in permanent vacancies, but a 2.4% rise in temporary and contract job advertisements (see next chart).
