DFP Recruitment has released its mining and resources jobs index for October, which registered a rise of 1.3% to 63.56, the first increase since January 2014.

Year on year, the number of mining and resources job advertisements has fallen by 28.7% nationally, but by only 1.6% in the last quarter, suggesting some stabilisation. Permanent opportunities rose 4% in October, in stark contrast to a 38% fall over the past year. Contract and Temporary roles fell 1.4% to 79.92 and have recorded a 20.6% decline over past year (see next chart).
