QLD’s employment purge has only just begun

The latest ABS labour force data for October painted a dour employment picture in Queensland.

At the state-wide level, Queensland’s trend unemployment was 6.7% in October, with seasonally adjusted unemployment at 7.0%. Both measures are far above the national unemployment rates of 6.2% (both trend and seasonally adjusted) in October (see next chart).
