ANZ job ads tick up in September

ANZ’s monthly job ads series for September was released this morning and points to an ongoing disappointing pickup in internet ads, with the minuscule newspaper ads sector declining but up overall by 0.9%:

The nearly 8% annual increase in job advertisements across all media is very weak compared with previous job recoveries and it appears to be in danger of slowing further.
This is consistent with the lackluster labour market data from the ABS and Roy Morgan with headline unemployment still grinding higher:

It’s still an insipid labour market. The Aussie dollar was little changed.
