Australia’s lost decade takes shape

There is lots of hand-wringing today over at The AFR (here, here and here) over the ongoing fall in Australia’s real national disposable income owing to the unwinding of the biggest commodity price boom in Australia’s history.

Deloitte Access Economics chief, Chris Richardson, best sums it up when he describes the slump in Australia’s income growth as “the glory days” being “well and truly over”, with living standards now frozen in time:
