ANZ-RM consumer confidence sticks to average

The ANZ-Roy Morgan Research (RMR) consumer confidence index rose marginally in the week ended 7 September, rising by 0.7 points (0.6%) to 113.3, taking it just above its long-run average reading of 113.2 (see next chart).

This week’s increase was driven by an improvement in consumers’ outlook toward their financial situation.
