SQM Research has released stock on market data for the month of June, which revealed a sharp fall in the number of homes listed for sale after stock levels surged in May:

According to SQM, the total number of homes listed for sale nationally fell by 5.3% in June and were 3.3% lower over the year, with monthly falls recorded across all markets and annual declines recorded everywhere except for Perth.

SQM puts Perth’s divergence to the rest of the nation down to the unwinding of the commodities boom, with the city experiencing “and uptick in both stock levels and rental vacancies, as the demand for accommodation in the locality weakens”.
