AFG: Investors shift their sights to Queensland (members)

Australian Finance Group (AFG) has released its housing finance data for the month of June, which registered seasonal monthly drop in mortgage applications, although both the number the value of applications were well up on the same time last year and a record for the month of June.

The number of mortgage applications fell by 11% in June but were up 15% over the year to 8,745, whereas the value of applications fell by 10% over the month but were up by 23% over the year to $3,794 million (see next chart).
