A moratorium on fracking for the development of unconventional gas resources in Victoria will remain in place until at least 2015.
Premier Denis Napthine on Thursay released a report by former federal minister Peter Reith on the state’s gas supply.
Dr Napthine said the government would seek feedback on Mr Reith’s report and engage in a consultation process.
That would lead to a further report in July 2015.
Just after the late 2014 election. Nice can kick that. I remain unconvinced that more CSG will bring down the gas price owing to its high extraction costs.
