AFP, RBA hit as cyber battle erupts with Indonesia

The Australian Federal Police and the Reserve Bank have been victims of an apparent cyber attack.

…The Australian Reserve Bank website was also targeted. A spokeswoman said that it has been the subject of a denial of service attack since midnight on Tuesday, but its systems have ensured the site did not go down.

…A member of the activist-hacking group Anonymous Indonesia has reportedly claimed responsibility for the cyber attack.

The attack comes following reports a cyber battle has been intensifying between Australia and Indonesia in the wake of spying revelations on Indonesian officials.
