TD Securities monthly inflation is out and whoa she’s up 0.5% on petrol and hotels. Year on year is now 2.7 per cent, up from 2.4 per cent in June. The trimmed mean came in at 3.1%.

Price rises for automotive fuel, as well as holiday travel and accommodation were the main contributors to the rise in the July inflation rate.

It’s going to be quite something watching interest rates fall as tradable inflation rises.
