Find below the DEEWR Leading Employment Indicator for August:
DEEWR’s Monthly Leading Indicator of Employment (Indicator) has fallen in August 2013, after a very slight rise in the previous month and five consecutive monthly falls immediately before then. This is close to a confirmation that employment is likely to continue to grow more slowly than its long-term rate of 1.5 per cent per annum over coming months. The Indicator is weighed down in August by a drop in the trend values of the Westpac-Melbourne Institute Consumer Sentiment Index. Cyclical employment has fallen for three consecutive months.
