DEEWR job ads jump on composition change
DEEWR Job Vacancies for August, which covers July, is out and showed a sharp jump of 5.4%:

The comparable and more accurate ANZ series fell 1.1% in July so I’d take this report with a grain of salt. Reader Davey identifies the problem:
This month, the Internet Vacancy Index (IVI) series has been affected by MyCareer’s move to free job advertising from 1 July. This has had a noticeable impact on the series, especially in seasonally adjusted terms, although the impact is likely to vary by occupation, State and region. For this reason, the monthly change in vacancies recorded for July 2013 should be used with caution. DEEWR recommends using annual changes in trend data as a more reliable indicator of trends in job advertising.
