China Flash PMI improves a bit

The China Flash PMI is out and shows a small improvement from 48.3 in March to 49.1 in April. Ouput, new orders and exports all contracted at a slower rate:

This is welcome. However, a quick look at the charts shows that the trends are all solidly sideways:
