DXY is poised to go lower.

Last night saw the ketamine Nazi having a Twitter/X stoush with the Adderall TACO-baby online after their recent public divorce, with Trump threat of taking away Tesla’s subsidies sending its stock price down over 14%.

Stock markets were quite mixed in the Asian session today without a solid lead from Wall Street as concerns over rare earth metal supply held back Japanese equities while currency markets are awaiting tonight’s ECB meeting.

DXY at the brink.

Last night saw the release of the latest US ISM services and private jobs data reports and both slumped below market expectations, halting the mini rally on Wall Street and tanking the USD once again.

Its still all about the art of the deal as the Trump regime struggles to find anyone wanting to come to the table with more tit for tat accusations between China still not yet upsetting risk markets.

Last night saw the release of the latest EU flash inflation figures which imply some building deflationary pressures while the latest US factory orders blew up to a new low, reinforcing the damage done by the Trump regime’s tariff “plan”.

A lot of macro events and geopolitics hit risk markets today but was mostly absorbed outside of currencies as the USD hit a six week low on a combination of the burgeoning world wide trade war started by the Trump regime and the growing slowdown in the domestic US economy.

DXY is breaking down again.

It was all about the TACO trade overnight as Wall Street rallied on an extension of Chinese tariff pauses despite a lot of vitriol between Trump and the Middle Kingdom about breaking the recent trade deal.

More hesitation on risk markets as the weekend news of increased tensions on Chinese and US trade, including more off the cuff tariff announcements from the TACO-in-Chief unsettles the new start to the trading month.

DXY and EUR both look like they are consolidating for more.

The TACO in Chief is again threatening more tariffs on the EU just 24 hours after a yeah-nah decision by US courts to remove then reinstate the global tariffs, which of course is translating into a lot of hesitation on risk markets.

DXY wobbling all over.

Overnight saw the Trump regime’s tariffs put back in place on appeal, causing more indecision and uncertainty in risk markets coupled with a series of bad domestic economic news for the USA.

The big news of the day is a possible reversal of ALL of the Trump regime’s tariffs (except steel/aluminium) due to a court order, although it remains to be seen if Don Taco will actually abide by the legal decision.

It sounds huge.

DXY is hanging on again.

The release of a set of “real” FOMC minutes sent Wall Street lower overnight as the Fed reiterated its fears about a US recession in the wake of the Trump regime’s tariffs, even with all the TACO drippings that seem to follow each new threat and bluster.

A couple of comments from the BOJ over the Japanese bond market and the ongoing trade war with the US didn’t upset most risk markets in Asia as they move in correlation with a resurgent Wall Street.

Wall Street returned with a bang after its long weekend break with a 2% plus surge across the board in response to the 180 degree spinning top EU Trump tariffs, which should give Asian equities a bounce on the open this morning.
