Australians aren’t willing to pay for net zero

As the debate on the issue of net zero emissions and climate change continues in the halls of power and around backyard BBQ’s across the nation, new data from Compass Polling has shed light on what voters believe when the time comes to pay for action on climate change directly with their wallets.

The poll commissioned by Affordable Energy Australia found that a majority of Australians (52%) were unwilling to pay anything extra to achieve net zero.

Of those that were willing to part with their money in pursuit of net zero, 22% stated they would contribute between $1 and $50.
