Why Albanese’s leadership is bulletproof

As the landscape of Australian federal politics continues to fragment, speculation is building on social media that the leadership of Prime Minister Anthony Albanese could come under threat, in much the same way it has for many of his predecessors and his Labour counterpart, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer.

According to the latest Newspoll, the Prime Minister has a net approval rating of -24%, with 36% of voters satisfied with his performance and 60% of voters dissatisfied.

To put these figures into an international perspective, U.S. President Donald Trump’s net approval rating is 19.5%, according to an aggregate poll modelled by the Silver Bulletin.
