To say the situation is problematic for newly minted Liberal Party leader Angus Taylor would be an understatement.

Instead of Ley remaining in parliament to see out her term or waiting until a more opportune time, her prompt resignation forces the Coalition and Taylor’s leadership into an immediate test right in the heart of what polls now suggest is One Nation territory.
