Middle East gas to add to LNG woes

In the wake of the almost finalised Iranian/US nuclear deal – opposed only by some wingnut Republican senators – there have been two recent developments in the Middle East that could shake up the LNG global pricing and supply complex, and in particular US shale gas. This does not bode well as the race to supply LNG and FLNG around the world, and especially here in Australia, heats up as Chinese demand falters.

First, with the Iranians poised to open the crude oil taps as sanctions are lifted, they have completed the commissioning of South Pars, a supergiant gas field discovered in 1990, the 2nd biggest in the world.
