Amid record immigration, Labor slashes infrastructure spending

Infrastructure Minister Catherine King will commission an independent review of the federal government’s 10-year pipeline of infrastructure projects, which is slated to cost $120 billion.

The review will be undertaken by Mike Mrdak, the former secretary of the department of infrastructure.

Labor will shift the focus of infrastructure projects to ones that are genuinely nation-building, economically sustainable and resilient to the changing climate.
