States headed for quarantine showdown with ScoMo

The issue of hotel quarantine is expected to be front-and-centre at today’s national cabinet meeting. This comes after Prime Minister Scott Morrison formally rejected Queensland’s proposal to quarantine returned travellers at a mining camp near Gladstone.

The states want the federal government to quit passing the buck and to take on more responsibility for quarantine programs, given it is its the federal government’s constitutional responsibility to do so.
