GDP in detail: National income rises as growth falls

The Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) today released the national accounts for the September quarter, which registered a 0.5% fall in real GDP over the quarter and only a 1.8% rise over the year, missing economists’ expectations of a 0.2% decline.

On a per capita basis, real GDP fell by 0.8% and was up by just 0.3% over the year.
