Last night, ABC’s Lateline aired a sobering segment on youth unemployment in Townsville, whereby we meet a bunch of young residents who don’t want to rely on welfare and are rallying to raise national awareness of the high rates of joblessness:

Sadly, political attention is unlikely to shift while the community continues to view Australia’s youth as a bunch of lazy bludgers:
