Last week it was former Victorian planning minister (now opposition leader), Matthew Guy, questioning the merits of high immigration. And now, Herald-Sun columnist, Tom Elliott, has penned a well-argued piece calling for a marked reduction in Australia’s migrant intake, in the interests of improving residents’ living standards:

SICK of being stuck in traffic? Surprised by the extent of Melbourne’s urban sprawl? Horrified to learn that once-entry level homes in inner areas now sell for more than a million dollars apiece?
