Will iron ore rebound into year end?

The spruik is about to begin for an imminent rebound in iron ore prices. Is it possible?

There are reasons to think to think so. In the past there has been a technical restock by steel mills because:

  • they run down stocks during the slower winter and need to replenish them;
  • they tend towards a steel inventory build in Q1, and
  • the Pilbara wet cyclone season threatens supply disruptions so mills seek a buffer.
