ABC Four Corners last night aired its latest episode, The Great Wall of Money, which attempted to investigate the huge flow of Chinese funds flowing into Australian real estate and where these funds come from.
The episode did a reasonable job of showing the breadth of Chinese investment and the stories behind the investors, including some of their motivations. For example, there was the bit part chase of some putative Chinese corruption beneficiary in Melbourne and a cafe owner in Sydney, as well as tears from a businessman who had been attempted to be bribed.
