Australian pay packets face a ‘lost decade’

A Fairfax Media survey of 25 economists, released over the weekend, has revealed that the majority believe Australians are facing a prolonged period – maybe three to four years – whereby wages growth will struggle to match inflation:

A majority of those surveyed – 21 out of 25 – believed Australia was entering, or had already entered, a period of low or zero real wage growth…
