Australia’s love affair with SUVs continues

The Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) today released new motor vehicle sales for the month of May, which registered a 1.3% seasonally adjusted decline in the number of sales, but a 0.8% increase over the year, with strong growth in the sale of Sports Utility Vehicles (SUVs) reported (see next table).

Sales in May fell in all jurisdictions except New South Wales and the Northern Territory.
