Listen in to the ABC, Senator Nick Xenophon maintain the rage on an iron ore inquiry and boy the Government does not look good.

Alas, neither foes Mr Xenophon who only chased the the inquiry owing to other big mining lobbying. He maintains that the inquiry was in the national interest but concludes with the following statement:

DAVID TAYLOR: But Senator Nick Xenophon says if the alleged market behaviour of BHP Billiton and Rio Tinto is correct then it’s costing the budget bottom line billions of dollars each year.

NICK XENOPHON: I think that the level playing field is not there and that Australian taxpayers are being taken for a ride.

There’s your final irony showing that Mr Xenophon has also been taken for a ride. A level playing field is not in the national interest.
