Coalition’s nanny trial good policy

As reported on ABC’s 7.30 Report last night, the Abbott Government yesterday announced that it would trial subsidies for shift workers, like nurses and police officers, as well as families living in regional areas.

According to the report, the trial would run for two years beginning in January and would subsidise the hourly rate for nannies for shift workers and some regional workers. The policy is aimed at assisting low and middle income families, and will be means tested.
