Roy Morgan unemployment jumps

Roy Morgan Research (RMR) has released its unemployment estimate for the month of February, which registered a 1.2% lift in the unemployment rate to 11.0% from 9.8% in January. However, unemployment was down 1.3% over the year (see next chart).

The jump in unemployment in February was mostly seasonal, according to Gary Morgan:
