Cutting tax concessions a fairer path to surplus (members)

Ross Gittins has posted a well-argued article today arguing that the Coalition’s Budget repair job was ill-targeted and should have sought to cut Australia’s myriad of tax concessions, rather than targeting important social programs:

Joe Hockey and Tony Abbott are perfectly right in saying we need to get the budget back into surplus, we need to make a start now and that this will inevitably involve unpopular measures.
