Let universities burn

Let a great excoriating fire sweep the arches:

Deakin University in Geelong will sack a “substantial” number of staff permanently as the coronavirus pandemic shutdown smashes revenue causing a cash crisis for the university.

Let it BURN!’

Why?

Because it is the only way that Australia can incinerate the moral hazard and, even more importantly, Chinese communist party influences in these organisations. They need to be traumatised and scarred with regard to their reliance on international (Chinese) students. They must know in their bones that the price of selling out Australia is not worth paying.

There is nothing personal in this. There is sympathy for those losing jobs (though some still need tough love). We need big fiscal support and a generous dole.

But Australia must not waste this tertiary crisis.

Let the Chinese umbilical wither.

Let the universities burn.
